When it comes to getting into shape, one of the hardest things to find is motivation. For a long time, I would half-heartedly go to the gym once or twice a week, and each time I would promise myself that it was the start of something more permanent.
Eventually, I stopped going altogether, and I got out of shape super fast. Fortunately, I live in a relatively nice area, and I can walk to different places if I ever need to. One day, I decided to walk to the store, and after that, I became a walking fiend.
To help me out on my quest to become fitter, I decided to get a pedometer so that I could track my steps and push myself to go further and for longer. That’s when I found the Omron Tri-Axis Pedometer, and it’s helped me achieve my fitness goals in spades. One of the best reasons to get the Omron Pedometer is the fact that is has a highly advanced tracking system to monitor your steps. With tri-axis technology, you can have the pedometer anywhere on your person or even in your bag, and you’ll still get an accurate reading. Sometimes I like to put the device in my pocket or my backpack while I’m walking so that I don’t risk it falling off, and I can still get an accurate readout no matter what.
Regular vs. Aerobic Steps
Another great thing about this pedometer is that it will track your normal steps as well as aerobic steps. What are aerobic steps? Simply put, if you have a speed of more than sixty steps in a minute, they qualify as aerobic. I like the fact that the pedometer will tell me whether I’m in aerobic mode or not so that I can pick up the pace if I fall behind.

Q: Can you wear this pedometer around your wrist?
A: Unfortunately, no. It just has a clip to be worn on your belt or clipped to your clothing.
Q: Does it show the time or does it work as a stopwatch only?
A: It displays the time in either 12 or 24-hour increments (military time).
Q: Will it track distance if I ride my bike?
A: For the most part, but it won’t be as accurate as if you were walking. You would only get an estimate of distance in that case.
Since I made the switch to walking anywhere I wanted to go, I have been in the best shape of my life. Part of the reason I stay motivated to keep walking is that the Omron keeps track of my progress so that I can see how well I’m doing and how far I’ve traveled in the past week.
I would prefer if it could store data for longer than seven days, but I just enter the data into my phone for long term tracking, so it’s not that big of an issue. Overall, I am very happy with this pedometer, and I will continue to use it for as long as possible.
